Weekend Strikers

What a fantastic and long day at Coronado! The weather started off a bit gloomy and then the sun broke through along with the wind... by the end of the round it was absolutely gorgeous and a fun time was had by those of us on the Patio enjoying fine food and beverage courtesy of the Club.

It was an eventful Saturday, in addition to the normal tournament action, we had TWO EAGLES! on the day. Sean Rufo landed a 3W from 230 out on the 2nd hole and sank a short putt. Steve Choy also had a fantastic 180 yard curved shot around the trees for an eagle putt on 18, which he confidently sank. Since the prize goes to the "First to Eagle", and Sean's was achieved earlier in the day he will win the prize of $240! Congrats to both Steve and Sean!

Of course this means the First to Eagle is SET BACK TO $0! Pay in $10 to Jeff Lim to build the pot back up for your Eagle next time!

Since this was a MAJOR tournament, we did not award a "Front, Back, and Overall" but instead prizes went to Net First, Second, and Third.

Remember you have to buy in to the "side bets" in order to win money for net finish or POD!

Player of the Day (POD) goes to the Golfer (that has paid into side bets) who shoots the best score compared to his/her own handicap, this week the POD goes to Michael Raulston! Congrats Michael, shooting 4% lower than his club handicap.

Third place in the PGA Championship at Coronado went to Santi Grijalva with a gross 80, net 69! Great job Santi! But since Santi did not pay in to the side bets today, the $65 for Third Prize goes to Dave Loop! Congrats Dave!

Second place went to Francis Quiogue, gross 92, net 68.2! Fantastic round, and takes home $110! But probably a little upset with John Wocjik for having to cancel his reservation for Coronado BECAUSE....

Our 45th sign-up for this MAJOR, and projected first Striker to miss the cut for our guaranteed tee times was at the last minute given a reprieve when a secured spot opened up this week. Our last entry GLEN BOURQUE TORE UP THE FIELD TODAY!! Gross 88 and Net 65.87!! Lights out Glen!! and welcome to the 2026 Winners Circle! Going home with a beautiful trophy, a bling chain and a pile of cash ($170), Congrats Glen!
